Disco will play in competition at this years Port Townsend Film Festival in Washington! It looks like a really fun and cool festival with strong local audiences. There have been an abundance of special guests at past festivals too including Tony Curtis, Peter Fonda and Malcolm McDowell among many others as well as festival alumni going on to be nominated and win major awards. It’s all very exciting.
The festival takes place in September so stay tuned for screening details!
CIAO FOR NOW!
I am so proud and honoured to announce that Disco will be premiering in the UK at this years Latitude Festival. It’s the perfect place for the film to have it’s premiere. Not only did Mixtape screen there last year but Suede are headlining the main stage on Sunday and they form a crucial part of Disco’s soundtrack with their 1996 hit ‘Beautiful Ones.’
Music is so important to me and the stuff I’ve made so far, that this feels like a great fit. I’m very excited to be seeing some great bands and films and for Disco to be a part of this amazing weekend of cool stuff.
Aside from that, Louie’s hair is a total homage to Brett Anderson so it just all makes sense.
Disco will be playing in the Film and Music arena alongside stuff like The Trip, with a Q&A from Coogan and Brydon, Misfits and Imogen Heap. Exact times and dates to follow.
The cherry on the cake is that my dear friend Martin Stirling’s short Automate is also playing. You can see the trailer here. It’s wicked.
Add to that: The National, Seasick Steve, Adam Ant, Eels, Foals, Paolo Nutini, Paloma Faith, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Vaccines, Bombay Bicycle Club plus comedy and poetry from many including the always delightful Tim Key and a tonne of other stuff almost too cool to remember. That’s quite a heady cocktail of excellence.
So get yourself a ticket and a tent right now.
